Levers are classified depending on the degree, excelling in first, second, and third grade.
The term lever alludes to a kind of force, or at least so is conceived in the area of exact sciences (specifically Physics), which consists of a tool, that, in general, it is a table or smooth surface, which transmits thanks to an item placed on its back, force and displacement.
Understanding in this sense, the word force, such as the ability of an object to change its own direction of movement or the direction of another element. And the offset, refers to the journey that makes an object, from its point of origin in another direction.
What are the types of levers?
To understand the degrees of levers, it is necessary, to understand certain concepts such as:
- Power, is a form of force that is applied directly on the object, which will determine the speed of your scroll.
- Resistance, is a counterforce that is performed on the same lever, and that it is necessary to perform the movements and the displacement that corresponds to the effects of the person who handles the lever.
- Support force, is that which occurs or that it plays by means of the fulcrum, that is to say, this is no more, that the object that is provided in the lower part of the bar or lever, and which depending upon its position, will determine the strength that is printed on the object.
In this case, the fulcrum is located in the middle, which can generate a kind of compensation between the force and the resistance, sometimes this type of levers work perfectly with the pulleys, as they allow a homogenous distribution of force.
Sometimes, for manual work, the lever, tends to be exercised by two people, as it allows to generate a uniform force, a common example of this, what we see in the outriggers, which spread the force to each of the ends.
But another example that we can observe, is found in the pliers, which, presented in their arms a kind of lever, which found its fulcrum at its middle point, when the person takes the pliers and squeezes with your hands, it transmits a force to its ends, which allows the grip of the indicated object.
In such a case, the fulcrum is located in the power, with the purpose of the resistance is greater, the most common example of this, what we see in the barrows, which occur with a certain inclination toward the front.
In such a way that the person is the one that makes the strength in his arms to lift it, however, such inclination facilitates the movement and transfer of the same truck, taking into account that the resistance is higher, so that the speed of displacement can be found a little bit reduced.
This year, we also see this reflected in the exercise which make the human beings in the process of rowing, the oar acts as a lever, being held by one of its ends, while in the water, acts as a fulcrum, which is (without a doubt) resistance.
Here, the speed of rowing, are uniform, to the extent that the body overcomes the resistance of the water.
In this case, the force applied on the lever is superior to the resistance, bearing in mind that the fulcrum is on the side of the force.
For example, the best of the examples, we can see in the eyebrow tweezers, in which case, the point force is located at the ends of these, so, as the person to take the caliper and pressing on their respective ends, it is found that the legs makes a certain amount of resistance, which will always be trumped by the force.
